I am calm sometimes but very well behaved, I am great at basic commands, and I can walk on the lead without pulling. Sometimes I can also walk off the lead. I love my food and especially treats; I will do tricks for them sometimes. I am not food aggressive, so I like other doggies and making new friends. I can do tricks like spin, talk (bark), whisper (low grumble, quiet bark), directional barking, centre place (stand, sit, lay between legs), around (circles around handler), put ‘em up (both paws up on you), head down. I am a task trained assistance dog. I’m alert and response, psychiatric alert and mobility.
Mummy says, “Barley has 2 modes. Puppy mode and Working mode. He knows when he’s working and is very different when he’s off duty. He knows the difference and loves both aspects very much. He can’t go on walks and just be left to decide what to do like most dogs otherwise he gets bored, he must be given a “job” so that he can use that incredibly intelligent brain of his. He can get stressed if he doesn’t have a job to do (getting him to spin every now and then on walks, taking his ball for him so he can do some heel work and get the ball as a reward. He loves using his brain, so much that it can be frustrating).”
