I am calm and well behaved; I can be hyperactive sometimes but depends on the situation. For example, if I can run or sniff about and know the people around me, I will probably get zoomies!
I am great at basic commands, and I can walk on the lead, usually without pulling. I can also walk off the lead. I am not food aggressive, so I’m fine with other dogs and making new friends, especially female dogs, unless it’s a big, massive dog like a Husky or St Bernard! I am a bit unsure of male dogs can be less tolerant. I will have an introduction and a quick sniff of the bum but don’t tend to enjoy playing with them as much as girl dogs.
I can do tricks like ‘BANG’ – Say bang with a gun hand gesture and I will fall to the floor and play dead. ‘HIDE’ – I will hind behind my paw. ‘SIT PRETTY’ – I balance on hind legs in a sit position. ‘TURN’ – I spin around. ‘TOUCH’ – Close or open draws/cupboards/doors. I can balance treats on my nose and will not move unless you say OK. The dream is for people to see me for what I am and to also promote the staffy breed I am mixed with that they are not as the media make them out to be!
My mum says “Buddy can be quite shy in new situations and can take him time to come around. If people around him encourage him and are calm, he will adjust of me or my husband are with him. Buddy is trained in Agility 🙂 we take it easier now with him being 9 but he can still pop a little course like a pup! We will be starting hoopers this year to keep him occupied. He loves to have a job 🙂”
