I can be excitable in new environments but I’m generally calm at home. I am very well behaved and listen well. I am great at basic commands, and I can walk on the lead without pulling. I can also walk off the lead. I love my food and especially treats; I am not food aggressive, but I don’t like others getting too near when I’m having some, but I like other doggies and making new friends, but I can concentrate better one on one. I can do tricks like Sit, Paw, High 5, Lay Down, play dead, speak, sit and stay, leave it, head down. My hero is the gremlins.
My parents say … “Emi is very quirky and inspirational; she likes to sneeze in your face but it’s impossible not to love her. She has very expressive eyes and always gets commented on them. Emi has a spinal deformity which she had major spinal surgery for in 2020. Her spine is stabilized with pins. She also suffered with 2 slipped discs in her neck in 2021/2022. Due to her spinal problems, she does have weakness in her back legs, and cannot walk long distances. She has a set of wheels if needed for longer walks. She also struggles to walk on very slippery floors. Despite all this she’s extremely happy and gets on well in her day-to-day life. Emi is very dominant and bossy. She doesn’t like new dogs getting right up in her space and will bark at dogs but has never hurt any other dog. She is highly motivated for food and treats but can get distracted if there are other dogs around. I think due to her condition it’s hard for her as she cannot keep up with other dogs, so she gets frustrated. She will work perfectly one on one with another human and will do various tricks in exchange for a treat.”
